Thedas

Thedas is the "dark fantasy" world in which the Dragon Age game occurs. It refers specifically to a Europe-sized continent containing many of the usual fantasy tropes, including magic, elves and dwarves, and periodic Blights (invasions by hordes of monsters known as "darkspawn").

The world was originally developed by BioWare for their Dragon Age videogames. Its name derives from BioWare's original internal codename: "The Dragon Age Setting".
